Year 5 Excursion - Canberra
On Thursday of Week 2, our Year 5 students rose early to commence their 2 day/overnight excursion to Canberra as part of our HSIE Unit, Australia as a Nation. This was an action-packed excursion of fun, learning and new experiences. On day one students visited the Australian Museum of Democracy located in the Old Parliament House. After lunch they went to the Australian War Memorial, were given a guided tour, and paid their respects to those who have fought for our country. The students travelled to space on Thursday night at Questacon, the National Science and Technology Centre and also experienced a simulated earthquake! Friday was spent at Parliament House followed by the Australian Institute of Sport. They arrived home safely (but exhausted!) on Friday night.
The students showed exemplary behaviour and represented our school with pride. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Bell for their kind donation of Hand Sanitiser Foam for us to use throughout the trip, and to our driver and guide, Mal from Benchmark Tours.

A special thank you goes to Mrs Lace for her dedication and time spent organising this amazing trip for our students. Thank you also to Mrs Tirchett, Mr Lowrie and Mrs Finney for giving up their time to attend.
