Diocese Swimming Trials

Monday 13th March saw 16 of our swim athletes compete at the Wollongong Diocese Selection Trials. It was a very wet but warm day.  All athletes did their best with many running back to the team to celebrate PB times.

Congratulations to our Senior Boys 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay Team and Nate Elliot - 11yrs 50m Breaststroke who have been selected to represent our Diocese at Homebush on Thursday 30th March in the MacKillop swim trials.

NSW & ACT indoor Rock Climbing State Championship

Ariah Blue competed in her first climbing competition at the combined NSW & ACT Indoor Rock Climbing State Championship during the weekend of the 11th & 12th March 2023. Youth competitors travelled from Queensland, Victoria and within ACT and NSW to gain experience and for those in NSW/ACT compete for podium placings.
Ariah Blue competed in two disciplines; Top Rope and Speed. Speed is how fast you can leap and bound up a wall and the aim of tope rope is to climb up to a height of 16 metres which is equivalent to the top of a five (5) story residential building while overcoming a series of challenges (crux's) and varied angles.
She achieved Bronze in Speed climbing, came 6th in top rope (across ACT & NSW) and an overall ranking of fourth (4th) in NSW rankings.
She has now been invited to represent NSW & compete at Nationals. The Australian Indoor Rock Climbing Competition will be a four (4) day event starting 18th May 2023 and Ariah Blue will compete in the Bouldering and Top Rope events, Speed competition will be held later in the year.
Congratulations Ariah Blue on a fantastic result.
