Improving Writing Pedagogy
On Monday 24th April, our staff participated in the Improving Writing Pedagogy -Day 1- Igniting the Will to Write Professional Learning. This day was facilitated by Brad Colquhoun, Maria Disibio, Michelle Lace and Christine Perre, with the support of Vanessa Taylor from the Catholic Education Office of Wollongong.
The Professional Learning involved:
● examining the importance of writing within the Primary Classroom
● developing an understanding of a writer‘s identity
● building knowledge of evidence - using informed principles for accelerating students’ development as writers
● learning how to create a vibrant classroom community of writers.
Staff will participate in Improving Writing Pedagogy (Day 2) on Tuesday 13th June which will also be a Pupil Free Day for students.
