NSWPSSA Athletics Championships - Olympic Park, Homebush
Congratulations to both Sonny (High Jump) and Randy O’Brien who represented St Columbkille’s and MacKillop at the NSW PSSA Athletics carnival last week. Additionally St Columbkille's was represented by our 4 x 100m relay team made up of Sonny and Randy O’Brien, Hugo Immens and Claude Vincent. The boys were cheered on by their Year 6 classmates who watched their heat via livestream. The relay team placed first in their heat and fifth overall. Well done to each of you for representing our school with such pride.
CEDOW Sports Awards
The Diocese of Wollongong Sports Awards will be held next week. St Columbkille’s has a number of students nominated for awards including:- Harrison Esteves (Year 5) for Cross Country and Athletics, Hugo Immens (Year 6) for AFL, Rugby League and Athletics, Sonny O’Brien (Year 6) for Touch, Rugby League and Athletics, Randy O’Brien (Year 6) for Touch, Rugby League and Team Athletics - Relay Team made up of Sonny & Randy O’Brien, Hugo Immens and Claude Vincent.
Each of these students has represented St Columbkille’s with pride, displaying skill and ability in their chosen sports. Well done.
Junior Gymnastics Championships
On Friday 27th October, Jett Hyslop from Year 2 competed in the South Coast A Team at the Junior State Gymnastics Championships in Sydney. She got a gold banding on all apparatus’s - floor, beam, bars and vault. Her team (comprising of five girls from the South Coast) placed 2nd overall taking home silver. Congratulations Jett!
