Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Term 3 of the 2024 school year. It was most delighful to see all our students return last week. Our Kindergarten students looked much older on Monday as they celebrated 100 days of Kindergarten. Perhaps 100 days of school has aged them!

During the week I was able to share that Mr Jacob Bow-Smith was the successful applicant for the 6 Gold teacher position.  Mr Bow-Smith is currently employed at Good Samaritan, Fairy Meadow until the end of Week 4 and hence will start at St Columbkille's from Week 5.

I take this opportunity to once again thank Mrs O'Connor for her time at St Columbkille's and warmly welcome Mr Jacob Bow-Smith to the St Columbkille's community.

Today we celebrated the Olympic Games in Paris by wearing green and gold.  It has been wonderful to watch the athletes competing in the games. Olympic athletes are beacons of inspiration, showcasing the pinnacle of human physical achievement and resilience. Their dedication, perseverance, and unwavering spirit ignite a spark in our hearts, reminding us that greatness lies within us all. Their stories of triumph over adversity inspire us to push our limits, chase our dreams, and strive for excellence in every aspect of our lives. Who knows perhaps one our St Columbkille's students will be an Olympian of the future.

Thanks in advance to our Year 5 staff for accompanying our Year 5 students to Canberra on Thursday and Friday. It will no doubt be fresh, but the learning experiences gained will be invaluable.

"We should certainly count our blessings, but we should also make our blessings count."

Warm regards,

Maria Disibio
