Sunday Reading Reflection: Pentecost Sunday

This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost, the moment when the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles, filling them with courage, wisdom, and the fire of God’s love. It marks the beginning of the Church’s mission in the world—and reminds us that the Holy Spirit is still at work in each of us today.

As a school community, we are called to be people of hope, unity, and compassion. Just as the Spirit helped the Apostles speak to all nations, we too are called to listen, include, and share God’s love in our words and actions.

Let us take this time to reflect:

  • How is the Holy Spirit calling us to use our gifts?

  • How can we bring peace, joy, and kindness to others this week?

  • How can we build a school community where everyone feels known, valued, and loved?

May the fire of Pentecost light our hearts and guide our journey together.

St Columbkille Celebrations
Next Friday 13th June we celebrate our feast day with a whole school Mass beginning at 9.15am where our St Columba awards will also be presented. After recess our fun rotational activities will begin. All are welcome to join in the festivities acknowledging the patron saint of our school, St Columbkille.

World Environment Day
Yesterday our Grade 2 classes and teachers led our annual acknowledgement for World Environment Day. Their message was as follows...
This annual event, which began in 1972, serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility to nurture and protect the environment that sustains us. Each year, World Environment Day focuses on a specific theme, highlighting a particular environmental concern. It’s like a big birthday party for our planet, where we gift it with love and care. The theme for this year is, "Ending Plastic Pollution". World Environment Day reminds us to care for nature and protect the Earth for future generations. Let’s all do our part—by recycling, saving water, minimising our plastic usage and caring for plants and animals. Let’s try to look after our planet every day.
Congratulations to those students who received the St Columbkille's Environmental Award for their class.
