Futsal NSW Schools Championship
On Thursday the 5th of June students from Years 5 and 6 competed in the Futsal NSW Schools Championship at Berkeley Sports Stadium. The students are to be congratulated for their efforts and skills shown throughout the day. It was great to see both teams make it through to the semi-finals on the day, however unfortunately both teams were eventually knocked out by TIGS.
Well done to all students for their excellent representation of St Columbkille's on the day!

NSWPSSA Girls Basketball Championships
This week, I competed for the Mackillop team at the NSWPSSA Girls Basketball Championships at Sutherland. The teams were made up of 140 girls from 14 School Associations from across the State.
We played 6 games in our Pool against South Coast, North Coast, Sydney East, Sydney North, Sydney South West and Western.
We won all 6 to make the Semi Final against Sydney West, which we also won to make the grand-final against Sydney East. We won the Grand Final 65 – 24.
We were very lucky to have had Maree Keogh (nee White) who was an Australian Opal as our coach.
I had a great 3 days making new friends from other Catholic Schools from the Mackillop region. I am so proud to have represented not only Mackillop, but St Columbkille’s at this level.

National Junior Championships
Over the June long weekend, I travelled to Melbourne with my Illawarra HAWKS u14G JPL team to compete in the National Junior Championship at Dandenong. This was an invitation only event where 4 NSW teams, 4 South Australian teams and 8 Victorian teams were invited to compete.
We went into "camp" and spent the 5 days with our teammates and coaches without our parents and only saw them for a few minutes after each of the 6 games.
We won one game out of the 6, but the other teams were really good.
It was a very different experience and definately one we will all learn from.
