Dear Parents and Carers, 

On Sunday as part of the Corrimal Community, we celebrated ‘Spring Into Corrimal'. It was a wonderful opportunity to represent our school in the annual march. Thank you to all the students, staff and parents were joined us in presenting our school and the Corrimal community in the march.

Last week we also celebrate National Child Protection Week and White Balloon Day. It is an opportunity for everyone in our community to think about how we can work together to keep all children safe. Importantly, it reminds everyone that we all have a part to play in protecting all children, even small actions can help to improve a child’s future 
and by building stronger communities, we are creating safer environments for our children.

The theme of the day was ‘Protecting kids is everyone's job, no matter what your job!’.  The students K-6 participated in the White Balloon Day Chalk Art Activities which incorporate the theme and key words including Brave, Protect, Safe, Educate, Empower, Care, Trust, Hope and Listen. Finally, in recognition and acknowledgement of the White Balloon Day at afternoon Award Assembly we reinforced the theme of the day. It was a wonderful day and reinforcement and the 3 rules safety rules - We ALL have the right to feel safe with people, - It’s OK to say “NO” if you feel unsafe or unsure and - Nothing is so yucky that you can’t tell someone about it. It is a great responsibility we have in keeping our kids safe and the students and staff had a lot of fun highlighting in support White Balloon Day.
