Each year, The Northern Illawarra Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) recognises Indigenous students from the Northern Illawarra region through the awarding of ‘Deadly Encouragement Awards’.

This year we are nominated Willow Russell and Jack McPhee to receive an award. Willow was nominated for being a keen participant in all celebrations and recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture who encourages other students to be involved in learning about, and appreciating, Indigenous history and beliefs.

Jack was nominated for keenly participated in all cultural and environmental learning opportunities at school, and readily assisting the younger students to increase their understanding and involvement.
