Welcome back to a new year of learning and celebration. I trust you enjoyed the holiday break with family and friends.  As we begin our new year as a school community, we welcome new students, families and staff. We especially welcome our Kindergarten students who begin their journey at our wonderful school.

Our vision “Learning Together, Shaping Futures” and our core values of faith, responsibility, respect, learning, community and celebration are a focus in our Religious Education lessons over the beginning weeks. Take some time to talk about these values at home.

We are in a period of Ordinary Time in the church. Some people think it is a time when nothing much happens.  Yet it is important because we are growing to be more like Jesus in our everyday lives by listening to the words of scripture each week. Life is not only about the special events and celebrations, it is about who we are in our day to day interactions.

Project Compassion Lenten Launch

Our school leaders will attend the Lenten launch for Project Compassion on Tuesday 5 March at St Brigid’s, Gywneville. Schools from within our Diocese will take part in this celebration acknowledging the beginning of Lent.

Plenary Council 2020

A final chance to have your say! The last meeting for the responses to the Plenary Council 2020 will be held in the Parish Centre of St Columbkille’s on Saturday 9^thFebruary at 7.10 pm (straight after Mass).  The Mass on Saturday evening will be led by Bishop Brian, so why not come along to Mass then take part in the Plenary Council meeting.

20/11 – Communion Retreat: Child only, Parish Centre, 9.30am start – 3.00pm finish.

First Holy Communion Masses:  6pm 23 November, 9.30 am 24 November.

Reading Roster

Thank you to those families who have already been a part of our Parish/Family Masses held on the first Saturday and Sunday of each month. I am currently in the process of putting together a roster for readers at these remaining Masses. If you and your child would like to read please contact the office.
