Our Year 6 students engaged in a Zoom conference with university students living in Japan. These students are currently involved in a program called ‘Project Unite’ which is based around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Year 6 presented on a range of topics that focused on environmental and sustainability issues and procedures that we have in place within our local and wider community. Some topics shared included our school garden, ’The Patch’, recycling and rubbish disposal, Trash Free Tuesday and our Enviro Ninjas Leadership Team. Students were given the opportunity to ask questions of the Japanese students which strengthened their knowledge about Japan, the culture and traditions.
